The Most Comprehensive Guide to Michigan’s West Coast

The Shoreline Guide began in Spring Lake, when a motel owner could not find out what was happening along the lakeshore for her guests. She worked with area chambers of commerce to gather information about events and activities that would interest visitors and area residents, alike. As a result, the West Michigan Shoreline Guide & Calendar of Events was born.

First published in 1973, the Shoreline Guide has evolved to become the lakeshore’s primary resource for things to do, see and experience. Staying true to its roots, the Guide still features a comprehensive list of events, places and activities for both visitors and local residents.

For 2007, we have expanded the Shoreline Guide’s reach by introducing our full-service Web site. More than just a calendar of events, shorelineguide.com is a true guide to absolutely everything the West Michigan shoreline has to offer:

  • Specialized directories and events calendars for each of our coverage areas (including restaurants, places to stay, golf courses, shopping, and more)

  • Articles about & reviews of local attractions, restaurants, events, etc.

  • Blogs to let site users describe their experiences with local events, destinations and attractions

  • Ability to let site visitors connect to advertiser Web sites to make reservations or get more information

In addition, we are upgrading our magazine to include more detailed information about cities and municipalities included in the Shoreline Guide. We are also switching to a twice-yearly publication format to ensure all events and areas are adequately covered.
