Fire Barn Museum Downtown Muskegon. 510 W. Clay. The Fire Barn Museum is a replica of the Hackley Hose Company No.2 and highlights the heroic tradition of firefighting. Exhibits include a 1923 American LaFrance Pumper Fire Truck, hose carts, hooks and ladders and photographs. Hackley & Hume Historic Site These restored lumber baron homes feature lavish wood carvings, stained glass, hand stenciling and furnishings. Open for tours Wed–Sun, noon–4 pm through October 29. Muskegon Museum of Art Muskegon, 296 W. Webster Avenue. Open since 1912, it houses one of the finest art collections in the midwest including many outstanding works of American and French Impressionist paintings, Old Masters, contemporary work, photography, sculpture, and glass. Oceana County Historical & Genealogical Society Historical Park (Museum) Mears, 2 blocks west of downtown Mears. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day, 2-5 pm on weekends and holidays. Silver Lake Sand Dunes Silver Lake/Mears, 2,000 acres of Michigan’s most unique and beautiful dunes preserved by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The dunes are open to the public for enjoyment April through October. ORV licensed vehicles are permitted. • 231-873-3083
