| Says the Chicago Tribune of Brazilian jazz artist Paulinho Garcia: "His vocals are never less than seductive, his guitar playing ever atmospheric and evocative. Garcia ought to be considered a local treasure." Alex Anderson of Jazziz Magazine adds, “Garcia is a clone of no one. Effortlessly, he moves from a straight Brazilian pop approach to caressing, seductive pop-jazz bossa novas.” The Chicago Music Awards named Garcia "Best jazz entertainer of 2001”, and his recording, "Homage", was chosen as the “Best vocal CD” in Japan during 2002.
